There are very few of Mike Weinberg's appearances that I have not yet seen. That being the case, I can say with great conviction that in my opinion he is a wonderfully talented actor, who always delivers an outstanding performance which is worth watching! They say 'first impressions last', and Mike was indeed very good in Family Law, where he played a relatively big and quite dramatic role, and the first that I saw of him. He was also fun to watch in Two Guys and a Girl - such a pity that he only had one scene, but it was funny! He did not talk much in Judging Amy, but was pretty convincing in that too. Mike's Japanese in Dark Angel impressed me, but unfortunately that was one of only a few times that he spoke in his Sci-Fi debut, and I really hoped that he would play a bigger role than he did! Life as a House was no exception - he was wonderful in a rather small part. The biggest role I've seen Mike in to date was probably Home Alone 4 - a somewhat mediocre television movie in which this young man outperformed most of his co-stars by far! There is no doubt in my mind that he is very capable of handling even bigger lead roles in the future. I can't wait to see all his other movies! I think that I enjoyed all his 7th Heaven appearances the most - those were all fun, funny and cute. Unfortunately the first one only lasted about a minute, but I'm sure everyone who saw that will remember Mike's "Which one of us are you calling honey???" and that look he gave Wilson (Andrew Keegan)!!! He had a much bigger role in his 2nd episode and was wonderful (as always). The third was again limited to one short scene, but with lots of confidence and plenty of attitude! In his 4th appearance he had one very short scene and then a longer one later, where he again displayed confidence and some attitude :) Mike's fifth 7th Heaven episode was just adorable - Billy pretended to be asleep and then got up and adjusted the answering machine's volume every time Wilson left the room! Scrubs saw him in yet another leading role, but unfortunately he had to take a slight step-down from playing the outright main character because of the nature of the show (the doctors in Scrubs will always have the spotlight!). The youngest Weinberg brother's guest starring role in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was however a different story - here he seemed to be in total command and played his part most convincingly! Now, if only the Project Greenlight 1 boxset (including Stolen Summer) would get cheaper, I could finally afford to buy that as well :-) |
